President Maithripala Sirisena states that the country will benefit only if the 18th and 19th Amendments to the Constitution are abolished.
Addressing an event at the BMICH today (23), the President Maithripala Sirisena said that the the motives of the good government could not be fulfilled due to the political instability created by the 19th amendment.
He said that instability had been created since the country could not function under a single leadership following the latest constitutional amendment.
During the event which was held to mark the 40th anniversary of the National Housing Authority, President observed that the country needs a leadership which is concerned about the welfare of the people.
The President also stressed that the needs of the people could be fulfilled easily if public servants fulfill their duties without engaging bribery and corruption.
