The Cabinet meeting usually held on Tuesday is scheduled to be held today under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
A Senior Government Minister told that the Cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held at 9.30 am at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President had taken a decision not to attend Cabinet meetings last week in protest of the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate the Easter Sunday attacks.
However, Housing Construction and Cultural Affairs Minister Sajith Premadasa and several other ministers had met with the President and sorted out the issue.
It is also reported that the previous Cabinet meeting was held at a time when there were 104 Cabinet Papers scheduled to be presented.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that the Cabinet Paper by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera for the import of cigarettes from China is also among them.
