Foreign troops will not be allowed in Srilanka -President

President Maithripala Sirisena says the government has not reached any agreement to bring in foreign forces in to the country.
The Head of State speaking in Polonnaruwa yesterday, expressed his disappointment at false rumours circulating on media misleading the public.

The President accused several media organisations of misleading the public in order to achieve petty political mileage.
President Sirisena said the Maha Nayaka thera have requested the government to refrain from bringing in foreign troops, claiming that they are against such a move.

Responding to these claims, the President reassured that the government has no agreement with any nation to bring in foreign troops.

The Head of State pointed out that no matter how much one wants to develop, after watching TV in the evening, an individual is eventually fed-up of thinking how the country will develop since media mainly highlights politicians  quarrelling, hurling allegations at each other as if there is no country.

President Sirisena added the main goal of media should be to aid in development and help strengthen the economy.

The President concluded saying he has won over world’s leaders, and now Sri Lanka will have their support and called for the public to focus on accomplishing their goals.
