The fee levied for issuing passports will be increased from today (June 1), the Immigration and Emigration Department said.
Accordingly, the amount charged for the normal service has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 3500 while the charges for one-day services have been hiked from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.
The fee charged for issuing passports with a three-year validity period for children under the age of 16 has also been increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500. The rates for the one-day service to obtain this passport too has been increased from Rs 5000 to Rs 7500.
In addition, the charges imposed while amending a particular in the passport has also been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1000, the Immigration and Emigration Department noted.
